Lytham Town Trust Awards £10,000 Grant to Lytham Cricket Club

Lytham Town Trust is pleased to announce a grant of £10,000 to Lytham Cricket Club to support the improvement of its clubhouse facilities, reinforcing the Trust’s ongoing commitment to community and recreational organisations in Lytham.

Lytham Town Trust owns the freehold of Lytham Cricket Club, having acquired it from Guardian at the same time as Lytham Hall in 1997. Supporting local recreational and community centres remains one of the Trust’s core objectives.

The £10,000 grant has contributed towards the installation of new toilet facilities, enabling the Club to complete the refurbishment of its main function room. These improvements will help the Club expand its use as a venue for events and functions, supporting its ambition to become financially sustainable throughout the year.

This latest grant follows a previous award of £5,000 from Lytham Town Trust in 2024, which supported the development of new changing rooms at the Club.

Peter Maguire, Treasurer, of Lytham Cricket Club, said:
"We are working hard to improve our facilities, supported by a fantastic fundraising group of members. Historically, the Club has relied on good summers to generate income, so enhancing our clubhouse—fondly known as ‘The Hut’—is key to attracting more year-round events and functions.

Lytham Town Trust’s generous grant is vital to our finances. It has enabled us to upgrade the toilet facilities in the function room, with further plans to improve those in the members’ bar. These improvements will stand the Club in good stead for the future, helping us generate additional income through room hire and events, and supporting the long-term sustainability of the Club and its sporting activities.”
